5 TIPS TO GET READY FOR SUMMER

It’s Official! Summer is here! It’s time to get your new bikini, tankini, or one piece and strut your stuff. But are you ready? If you are not, don’t freak out! It’s okay! Relax! You are certainly not alone and there is still time to get yourself summer ready. Here is exactly what you need to do as you head into summer.

  1. Get Your Sexy On

Move your body! If you want to whip your body into shape this summer, you need to get active. Commit to a full-body workout 3 times a week, pick a fun class or activity you like, or go for a 30 min walk everyday. Exercising simply makes you feel strong, fit and healthy.

Say No to sugar-sweetened drinks. Don’t drink away those calories! Avoid Soft drinks, bottle juices, milky coffees and sugary drinks whenever possible and opt for water. You should drink at least half your body weight in ounces each day (e.g. a 150 – pound woman should drink 75 oz. or the equivalent of about four and a half 16.9 oz. bottled waters a day) in order for your body to be properly hydrated and keep your skin looking dewy and revitalized. Another great swap is replacing soft drinks with smoothies or fresh juices or adding lemon or cucumber to water if it seems too bland.

2. Take care of yourself

Nourish your skin. Making sure your skin is summer-ready is something you shouldn’t overlook. Prepare your skin for the hot and sticky summer time. Get that flawless skin started by exfoliating, detoxing and sealing in that moisture. This is another important element that will make a big difference when you are wearing that cute bikini. Make sure you have a bottle of high quality sunscreen ready to go. Your body will thank you!

Remove unwanted body hair before you slip into that swimsuit to make you feel comfortable and confident. All waxing should be done 72 hours before you are exposed to the sun to ensure your skin is calm and that any trace of redness is gone before you put on your swimsuit and expose the area to the sun.

Plan a trip, find a summer camp or sporting activity, learn a new hobby, learn how to cook, read or write a book, hike local trails, enjoy a day at the pool, check your city’s calendar of events to look for concerts and festivals, meet new people and share stories, go to baseball games, go to an amusement park, go shopping.

These are just a few of the thousands of ideas out there for you to do this summer but just don’t preoccupy yourself with activities. You also deserve to relax. Take a breath, rest and recharge. Summer is also the time to be unencumbered.

5. Suit Up! Life is better in a bikini

Purchase a swimsuit that truly fits and flatters you. Find a style that highlights your asset and accentuates everything you love about your body.  This can transform you into a beach or pool goddess. Even if you haven’t quite achieved the bikini body you were imagining this season, wearing a swimsuit that truly fits will make you feel much more comfortable and confident. Emphasize a small bust with bold patterns or a high waisted bottom to cover your trouble spots and flatter your shape while keeping it elegant and classy.
